Kisan Ki Pukar is a raw and intimate documentary that brings forward the unheard voices of India’s farmers. Set across rural landscapes, the film captures the everyday realities of those who sustain the nation yet remain overlooked. Through real stories of debt, uncertainty, and resilience, it reveals a life shaped by struggle and silence. Without dramatization or filters, the film observes, listens, and questions: Are we truly aware of the people who feed us, or have we chosen not to hear them?

Farmers are the backbone of the country, yet their struggles remain largely invisible. This film exists to bridge that gap.

Because the real crisis is not just suffering, it is silence.&nbsp;

Kisan Ki Pukar aims to go beyond awareness and create a lasting emotional and social impact. By bringing audiences face-to-face with the lived realities of farmers, the film seeks to spark meaningful conversations across digital platforms, communities, and policy spaces. It encourages viewers to move from passive consumption to active understanding, questioning the systems and silences that surround agriculture. Through festival exposure, media attention, and audience engagement, the film strives to make these voices visible, heard, and impossible to ignore.

The total project budget: ₹5.33 lakh (~USD 5700).

To raise this amount, the project is divided into 9,000 MPC units, each priced at ₹58.89 ($0.63). Supporters can purchase one or more MPCs, effectively becoming part of the film’s ownership ecosystem.

Arjun Rao is a visionary filmmaker and producer known for his keen storytelling and innovative approach to cinema is collaborating with director Suneeth Kumar. A production house that has been crafting narratives across films, TV serials, documentaries, and music videos.&nbsp;

Anasuya, a housewife, is left alone when her husband, Chandrakanth, leaves for a business trip. One night, she sees her neighbor, Murali, dragging a body into his house. Nigeria

Victoria Nwosu grows up misunderstood, feeling unseen, unwanted, constantly humiliated, and emotionally isolated; first at school, then at university, and later within her own family. Her intelligence and creativity are overshadowed by bullying, academic failure, and a growing fear of rejection. Despite her struggles, Victoria clings to one dream: storytelling through film.

When she finally gains a scholarship into a film academy in Lagos state, Nigeria, she sees it as her escape; her chance to be seen and valued. However, upon arrival, her housing arrangement collapses, placing her in the hands of a stranger whose kindness turns threatening. Victoria escapes physical harm, but the psychological damage deepens.

As she tries to focus on her film project, the weight of her unresolved trauma begins to surface. She experiences hallucinations of an “Other Victoria”; a cruel, confident version of herself that feeds on her fears, self-hatred, and insecurities. Her sense of reality blurs as past memories of bullying, rejection, betrayal, and academic failure replay violently in her mind.

Her mental state deteriorates further when she begins to suspect betrayal from people around her; particularly within her film project team. Sleep deprivation, fear, and paranoia push her toward emotional collapse. Victoria is eventually forced to confront the truth: the greatest battle is not with Lagos, her classmates, or her past abusers; but with the voice inside her head shaped by years of trauma.

The Luxury of Torture addresses mental health awareness, a growing but underrepresented issue in African storytelling. Many young people silently battle trauma caused by bullying, family pressure, academic failure, and societal expectations often without support or understanding.
